$38 / hour The Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical therapy services including treatment, implementation and documentation under the direction of the Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides physical therapy according to the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care according to state regulations Treats individuals to help relieve pain, develops or restores function, and maintains Amergisum functional mobility and performance Continues to assess the client's living environment for barriers, safety risks and equipment needs Directs and aids clients in active, passive and resistive therapeutic exercises, muscle re- education, functional gait and balance training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training Instructs care and use of assistive mobility devices, braces and prosthetic or orthotic devices Utilizes physical agents, including but not limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage Cleans and maintains equipment used in the field in accordance with manufactures directions and per policy Instructs and educates individual, family, and/or caregivers in the use of and care of therapeutic appliances Reports reaction(s) to treatment or change(s) in condition to physician and Physical Therapist Identifies individual and family/caregiver needs for other supportive services and notifies Physical Therapist Maintains communication with the company and other personnel caring for the client to assure that their efforts effectively complement each other and support the objectives outlined in the plan of care Prepares and submits clinical progress-summaries based on the progress toward goals and responses to treatment Participates in discharge planning Provides/submits accurate and timely documentation that is consistent with the plan of care Complies with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding professional standards and practice standards Performs other duties as assigned/necessary Minimum Requirements: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistant One (1) year of prior professional Physical Therapy Assistant experience preferred Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable Current CPR if applicable TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required Computer proficiency required Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
