Job Title: Entry Level Engineer
Work Schedule: Hybrid (Tues/Wed/Thu in Tulsa area office)
Work Hours: Monday to Friday (EST 8:00am – 5:00pm)
Contract Details: 12 month contract to hire
Pay Rate: $27.85

Candidates: Must reside in Tulsa area, this role is not open to C2C or Visa sponsorship

Reporting to the assigned supervisor, the Entry-Level Engineering Associate is responsible for executing engineering tasks and projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. This role requires the application of engineering knowledge to accomplish assigned objectives in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrates entry-level knowledge and experience in applying engineering theory to solve well-defined problems or provide analysis, with guidance from higher-level engineers.
  • Assists in handling defined portions of more complex problems and analyses.
  • Develops familiarity with relevant standards, codes, regulations, equipment, materials, systems, and business processes.

Leadership & Guidance:
  • Coordinates work activities as needed to address routine engineering tasks.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of policies and procedures, with activities monitored by higher-level employees.
  • Collaborates effectively with others, demonstrating willingness to assume leadership roles.

Planning & Organization Ability:
  • Contributes to project planning documents, understanding scheduling techniques for budget and planning activities.
  • Monitors project status and recommends actions accordingly.
  • Prepares cost estimates and develops understanding of routine project workflows.

Problem Solving & Initiative:
  • Actively seeks information and understanding of engineering problems and solution techniques.
  • Applies basic analysis techniques to resolve routine technical problems.
  • Demonstrates initiative in seeking opportunities and presenting new ideas.

Communication:
  • Participates in report and technical paper preparation, communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Listens attentively, seeks clarification when necessary, and presents ideas clearly.

Decision Making:
  • Develops decision-making skills under guidance, making routine decisions subject to review.
  • Contributes to team decision-making processes.
  • Exhibits a customer-focused attitude, applying economic analysis techniques in problem solving.
  • Seeks ways to protect the environment while ensuring reliable electricity at a competitive cost.
  • Actively participates in professional and business organizations to enhance understanding of department roles and responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Encouraged and preferred to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Acceptable alternatives include a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S., or a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET-accredited Bachelor's program.
