What you will do

Johnson Controls is looking for an On-Site Supervisor for one of our clients in the Southwest of the UK. We need someone will have excellent communication and customer service skills along with people management skills with the ability to develop and manage a team of on-site engineers. Our supervisors can deal with new and unexpected situations with a proactive and professional approach and have the ability to build strong relationships and inspire and influence others.

Supervising a team on a nuclear power station has unique challenges that will require a great attention to detail, a commitment to completing works required as per the customer’s unique and changing needs, and ability to take responsibility for, and drive the works of the team present on site year-round.

How you will do it

Work as part of the on site team to complete fire detection and gaseous suppression servicing on electrical systems.

Undertake client and third party training to become registered as a field supervisor on a nuclear site.

Set two teams to work on fire detection and passive fire equipment.

Communicate with client on a daily basis to receive work instructions and receive permits to work.

Attend client meetings to undertake dynamic requests.

Provide on-call cover to the single site of work, on a week on week off basis.

Complete fire detection maintenance testing, commissioning, witness testing and client training on site where required.

Oversee contract on site notifying of any alterations/variations to plan, reporting back to FLM and client.

Reporting of any near misses/H&S issues with immediate effect to FLM and client.

Keep daily diaries of works completed and ongoing projects, to be submitted weekly to FLM and client.

Management and monitoring of site documentation to ensure both accuracy and expediency, including reviewing timesheets for correct hour booking and appropriation.

Conduct regular safety and quality audits on the Engineers and Sub-Contractors to ensure that the employees are using the correct equipment in the correct manner.

Monitor Health & Safety of allocated staff and Sub-Contractors, ensuring compliance with all legislation & Carry out TBT’s on site on a weekly basis.

To establish, manage and monitor customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction is achieved. 

What we look for

Experience on Nuclear power stations and their regulations.

Excellent communication and customer service skills. People management skills with the ability to develop and supervise a team, preferably within a field role.

Ability to deal with new and unexpected situations with a proactive and professional approach. Ability to build strong relationships and inspire and influence others.

Electrical experience ideally within the Fire Detection industry

MUST hold a Full driving license.

Relevant gas suppression experience (CO2, Inergen & Novec), and passive fire protection equipment is desirable.

Supervisory experience is desirable.

Must be willing to travel for training when required.
