General Summary:

The Staff Chaplain will meet with Ace employees and/or their families in times of crisis, most often traveling with the Ace Executive team to visit the employee/family. Providing counseling, comfort and resources, the Staff Chaplain will be engaged by the Human Resources Director on an as-needed basis for a particular incident/issue. The Staff Chaplain should not expect to be a hotline for all employees as Ace provides other services to employees for those cases, but rather a resource for the Executive Team to deploy in times of an immediate crisis.

Preferred Job Skills:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Ability to maintain required levels of confidentiality when entrusted with sensitive business, employee related information.
• Effective and professional communicator.
• Able to maintain a calm and maintain a pleasant demeanor in difficult situations.

Mandatory Hiring Requirements:

References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities:

• Provides guidance and counseling to Ace employees and their family members during a crisis incident.
• Visits or reaches out to employees and/or family members when requested.
• Assists employees and family members with referrals to additional resources if needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of everyone for whom care and counseling is given.

Position Requirements:

• License: Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company.
• Certification: None required.
• Education: High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of pastoral experience required.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a climate-controlled office setting with varying degrees of stress and time pressure.
• Considerable amount of time making repetitive motions.
• Considerable amount of time sitting.
• Considerable amount of time using telephone and computer.
• Sounds and noise levels may be distracting or uncomfortable.

Required Physical/Mental Functions:

• Read and interpret written instructions.

• Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
• Able to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Tolerant to prolonged sitting/standing.
• Tolerant to air travel.
