In this role, you'll lead a team overseeing public infrastructure projects. Your role involves managing inspection personnel, organizing schedules, ensuring compliance, and maintaining client communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer advanced, paraprofessional engineering expertise to both team members and clients.
  • Effectively manage the allocation of inspection personnel, ensuring suitable deployment across jurisdictions and projects.
  • Schedule and organize daily and weekly tasks for inspectors to guarantee timely and thorough project inspections as per contractual obligations.
  • Verify completion of all necessary paperwork and daily reports by inspectors for each project, submitting documentation to both the Santa Rosa office and the client.
  • Maintain regular communication with client representatives to provide project updates, address concerns, and anticipate potential issues.
  • Conduct routine meetings with inspectors, conduct on-site visits to assess project progress, and ensure inspectors have requisite tools and support.
  • Identify training needs within the team and facilitate appropriate training opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, technologies, and industry practices to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.
  • Prioritize prompt and accurate responses to client inquiries and requests for assistance.
  • Monitor project budgets, review draft invoices, and promptly escalate any financial concerns to the Construction Services Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Services Manager and Marketing Staff to promote the Construction Management and Inspection division.
  • Contribute to proposal development and budgeting for upcoming projects.
  • Support the Construction Services Manager in personnel management, including training, supervision, and performance evaluations.
  • Contribute annually to the strategic planning process for expanding the Construction Management and Inspection division.

Your Expertise:

  • Proficiency in leadership, team management, and training methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of surveying principles, materials testing, engineering design, and construction practices.
  • Ability to estimate quantities and costs accurately.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Familiarity with project planning and administration principles.
  • Competency in statistical and mathematical principles relevant to engineering tasks.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations governing public works projects.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, as well as construction standards and procedures.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and labor code compliance.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with construction administration and management systems.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and challenging terrains.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of at least 10 years in overseeing various aspects of public works infrastructure construction projects, coupled with a minimum of 5 years as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Possession of a valid California driver’s license with a clean record.
  • A California PE license is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Desired certifications include Certified Erosion, Sediment & Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI) and/or QSP/QSD.
