Pay Range

$99,400.00-$136,700.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

The Johns Manville Roofing Systems team is hiring a Senior Sales Representative for our Detroit territory. The Senior Sales Representative will sell roofing product lines/systems and generate new growth and profitability within the territory.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Develop drive a sales strategy for a particular territory/market
  • Conduct market research analysis, monitor and make recommendations concerning market needs, changes in competitive policies and strategies, channels of distribution, advertising and promotion, pricing and sales activity
  • Develop sales forecasts by product line, markets, and major customers.
  • Implement marketing programs to achieve sales and market share objectives as well as prepare and issue reports as required
  • Maintain existing accounts and generate new accounts to grow the business in specified sales territory/markets
  • Support strategies to meet assigned sales, profit and profitability objectives and make direct customer calls on contractors/distributors/retailers to develop and increase sales through these channels
  • Formulate job bids and negotiate contracts to drive product/systems sales to support established price strategies and minimize price deviations
  • Manage customer needs through product development processes, provide technical assistance and information to customers, respond to customer inquiries, manage.
  • Assure legal compliance in the selling of all products/systems with applicable local, state and federal regulations
  • Recommend, develop and conduct training programs for customers.
  • Provide mentoring to the sales force
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree or 8 years of professional experience in lieu of a degree (plus requirements below)
  • 5 years or more years of experience preferably in low slope roofing or construction industry
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate product lines, markets, and customer, marketing programs, and sales strategies
  • Experience calling on architects and specifiers
  • Sales ability to introduce new products/systems
  • Prefer experience in the third party (e.g. distributor) sales and working with architects and contractors to specify products
  • Ability to estimate and monitor expenses for budgeting and territory/market operations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Travel required within the territory.
  • The primary work environment is typically in an office environment with occasional visits on a job site; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
