POSITION SUMMARY
This is a high impact management role that will drive the growth of the Tapes Portfolio, crossing over multiple Markets, Product Lines, and Channels. As a key member of the Product Management team, the incumbent will lead and collaborate on innovation pipeline growth / NPD, product portfolio growth strategy, product marketing, branding, and communication, and manage the business performance of the entire Tapes Portfolio cross-functionally. This is a critical leadership role in the organization owning and driving the strategy, program implementation, and performance of the portfolio (‘book of business’) across the functions, customers, regions, technologies, and Tape products of the entire FLEXcon organization.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Engineering, Business Management, or technical field.
  • MS, MBA degree or an advanced degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 10-15 years of product management, product development, sales and business development experience
  • Consistent track record of growth through developing new products from concept through commercialization, building product lines / portfolios, developing new business models, opening new market sales channels.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a Global Product or Business Management role driving overall portfolio strategy, sales channel, business and market development, go-to-market strategy, and driving new product development programs.
  • Product life-cycle management including portfolio planning, product rationalization, Voice of Customer (VOC), P&L management, BI, Market & Pricing Strategy.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Long-Range Roadmap (3 years) that includes development/optimization and launching technology platforms that support the portfolio.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads cross-functionally across the Flexcon companies through the following responsibilities: Global Portfolio Strategy & Management

  • Develop five (5) year Portfolio growth strategy and annual operating execution plans, ruthlessly prioritizing must-win change initiatives to deliver projected growth goals.
  • Responsible for defining and managing global portfolio strategy to increase revenue and profitability through ownership of Portfolio go-to-market strategy and execution.
  • Build the Global Tapes Porfolio business crossing over all relvant FLEXcon business units, product lines, markets, applications, and technologies, assembling existing products and identifying new product opportunities through competitive research and market-driven demand.
  • Develop the positioning strategy and execution tactics of all Portfolio products and services considering brand positioning, messaging, lead generation requirements, sales opportunity, price, market development, technical performance, competitive positioning, and profitability.
  • Develop and drive long-range technology platform requirements and NPD roadmap, guide fiscal planning for future growth, direct and drive evolution of the Tapes Portfolio.
  • Lead the direct sales effort for the Tapes Portfolio, across the diverse capabilities of Flexcon and Blueshift, selling into new channels to market. Including new converters, master distributors, and strategic partners globally. Build the direct sales team as business growth justifies expansion.
  • Lead Portfolio business development, identifying and analyzing relevant value chains, execute direct and indirect commercial development strategies to reach new markets, applications, channels, and existing and new customer segments and sales pipelines in all regions globally.
  • Drives development of new business models and supports corporate development through strategic partnerships, private branding agreements, and potential M&A.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Continuously pursuing and investing in the development of their leadership, influence, and all supporting skills as they grow and expand their career.
  • Lead and support cross-functional teams through development and transformation programs and drive problem resolution including NPD, PLCM and product line optimization, S&OP and forecasting, product marketing / NPI, business growth and recovery, and improvement of profitability, OTD/P, Quality, NPD, and Inventory.
  • Support developmental relationships with suppliers and strategic alliances, partnering with R&D and Procurement in technology platform development to support the Tapes NPD roadmap.

Research & Intelligence

  • Monitor and assess competitive intelligence and as a result develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the Portfolio’s competitive edge.
  • Lead and conduct market and voice of customer (VOC) research including OEMs, customers, and industry alliances, and validate internal BI and external data to drive decisions on development of Portfolio strategies, plans, and identification of new opportunities.
  • Gather and synthesize data to drive conclusions from key findings and proactively lead change company-wide to drive growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
  • Category #3 (Hybrid Employee): Employee requires regular travel to a Flexcon facility and will require a dedicated remote and onsite office space (does need to live within a reasonable driving commute to Flexcon NA Facility).
  • Estimated travel 60%
  • Driving on company business is required for this role on a frequent basis (defined as anyone that drives on company business 50 or more times per year not including regular commute to work)

ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY:
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all environmental and safety regulations, including the Company’s environmental and safety policies and procedures. Must be willing to report potential environmental and safety improvements to appropriate supervisory and/or management personnel.
  • Must report all (on shift / off shift) incidents to Supervisor immediately.
  • Must adhere to Flexcon’s personal protective equipment standards.
  • The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to environmental policies and company procedures as per the company’s Environmental Management System.
  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of harm to the safety of themselves or others.
  • Responsible for informing the Company if he/she is taking medications or if there are any other circumstances that would interfere with safe performance of job duties.
