About ASET West Jefferson, OH: AmplifyBio’s safety, efficacy, and toxicology unit (ASET) was launched as a preclinical CRO that spun out of Battelle in 2021 to address the changing needs of commercial organizations developing modern therapeutics. AmplifyBio brings decades of experience to accommodate a wide variety of GLP and non-GLP studies in all in vivo models and dose routes. Among the investments that AmplifyBio has made to empower preclinical assessments of advanced therapies is building a new state-of-the-art analytical laboratory to include molecular and immunological assays that assess critical safety and efficacy indicators for cell and gene therapies during preclinical studies

AmplifyBio is seeking to hire an experienced and skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our growing team!

The Senior IT Systems Engineer’s primary focus on computer networking and systems administration and will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure seamless operations and provide unparalleled support to our clients and internal teams.

The Senior IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading the efforts in standing up various endpoints that include desktops, laptops, and devices in GxP Labs and the manufacturing environment. As a lead engineer in this role, you will be actively participating and providing oversight, deployment of all endpoints, and network setup. You will work in tandem with our IT Operations team to ensure coordinated efforts related to the You will be collaborating closely with vendors and partners throughout the endpoint systems lifecycle and user account management lifecycle (i.e., plan, implement, run & operate, and retire). What You’ll Do Here:

  • Network Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain robust computer networking systems, LANs, VLANs, WANs, VPNs, and data center networks, to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Systems Management: Ongoing maintenance and monitoring of VMware, SANs, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, Linux operating systems, Microsoft IIS, and Microsoft SQL.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve complex networking issues related to connectivity, routing, switching, and security promptly. Act as a point of escalation for critical network incidents, providing technical expertise to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Cloud Systems: Security and management of environments including Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Azure/Entra, and AWS.
  • Network Security: Implement and monitor security measures to safeguard the network against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other potential threats. Conduct regular security audits and implement best practices to ensure a secure network environment.
  • Network Performance Optimization: Analyze network performance metrics and proactively identify areas for improvement. Optimize network configurations, bandwidth utilization, and traffic flow to enhance overall network performance.
  • Network Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor network health and performance using various tools and technologies. Perform routine maintenance tasks, software upgrades, and patch deployments to ensure the network's stability and reliability.
  • Network Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures, to facilitate troubleshooting and future expansion.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to acquire hardware, software, and services related to networking. Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support staff, system administrators, and developers, to understand networking requirements and provide expert guidance for network integration with other systems.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to acquire hardware, software, and services related to networking. Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business, Quality IT, Quality Assurance, internal/managed IT, vendors etc. to understand networking requirements and provide expert guidance for network integration with other systems.
  • Drive resolution of technical issues related to regulatory nonconformance of computerized systems and provide technical support as needed during audits / inspections.

We Would Love to Hear from You If:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Senior IT Systems Support Engineer with a primary focus on computer networking and systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in computer networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Direct experience with network hardware devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and access points.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools and network management systems.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, including setting up perimeter security for the internet: DMZ, configuring Next Generation Firewalls and best practices.
  • Relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience with switching technologies in campus and datacenter environments.
  • Experience working with Cisco, Aruba / HP, Palo Alto in a data center environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, Linux operating systems, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; MS 365, knowledge of PowerShell scripting, automation, Cert chain and CA certificate.
  • Working knowledge of Azure/Entra and AWS.
  • Knowledge of ITIL change management process.
  • Understanding of best practice data administration and management processes.
  • Understanding of best practice business continuity & disaster recovery management
  • Experience working in a life sciences or similar regulated environment is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Experience in the understanding, reviewing, and writing technical documents.
