Primary Responsibilities

The Structural Systems IPT Lead will support the Project Manager by leading the design and development of structural systems associated with the Universal Stage Adapter (USA). This position is responsible for leading structural design, development, and qualification for structural components and systems. The successful candidate will manage a multi-disciplined, multi-organizational Integrated Product Team consisting of internal Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Thermal Analysis, and Test Development personnel, as well as multiple subcontract companies.

The IPT Lead will act as a Control Account Manager (CAM) supporting company Earned Value Management (EVM) processes.

Daily customer interaction and effective communication skills, written and oral, are required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university
  • Candidate must have at least twelve (12) years of related experience with at least (7) seven years in the aerospace or spaceflight industry
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience in structural hardware development, related to mechanical design, structural analysis, and/or testing
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience in project management
  • Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications

 Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Experience and/or working knowledge of:

•Demonstrated understanding of NASA hardware development and qualification processes

•Earned Value Management (EVM) project experience

•Experience working within and/or leading multi-company and multi-organizational development teams.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
