This position supports the work team in accomplishing the overall team’s mission and lead natural work teams in day to day operations. Responsibilities also include leading the team in the areas of productivity, operations, safety, quality, and team effectiveness.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Productivity – Lead the team to ensure all extrusion and reclaim lines are running through shift change, changeovers are completed efficiently, and break schedules are adhered to.
    • Ensure all processes, equipment and automation is utilized effectively, and maintain the flow of WIP in and out of roll storage
  • Operations – Coordinate team resources with other Team Leaders to ensure staffing of plant priority lines and to keep lines operating at all times
  • Safety – Coordinate safety activities for teams to include adherence to safe work practices and PPE guidelines, encouraging ZERO Incident process, and promoting good housekeeping
    • Coordinate accident reporting and investigation, and guide team to meet monthly BBS observation requirements
  • Quality – Ensure quality checks are done in accordance to specifications
    • Ensure all operators conduct quality checks during the shift and HRXHR is complete, and checked throughout the shift
    • Ensure run rules are followed and include corrective action process when needed
  • Continuous Improvement – The team leader will communicate overall and team performance to the teams
  • Team Effectiveness – Ensure proper communication throughout the team
    • Lead team in handling team and individual performance issues, conflicts, and policy issues
    • Communicate team issues to the shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and HR Manager on a timely basis
Qualifications:
  • Minimum C Extrusion Operator
  • Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Team Skills Training – company policy and procedures, company support, and business systems
  • Leadership training – problem solving, leadership skills, conflict resolution, effective communication
