Chemical Engineering Co-op

Job Description:

This is a Fall Co-op, running from June to December. On-site in Bedford, MA

Core Purpose:
The chemical engineering Co-op will bring in the knowledge that is learned at school and apply in UPE membrane R&D projects. The role will join UPE membrane R&D teams in projects ranging from membrane development to membrane process development and problem-solving. The role will, under engineering and technical supervision, carry out assigned tasks in experiments, testing, and analysis.

In this role, you will:
• Hands-on work in R&D labs, pilot lines, or experimental work on production lines.
• Perform membrane tests or other engineering tests.
• Collect, organize, and analyze engineering data from tests and experiments.
• Generate reports of experiments as necessary.
• Attend technical meetings on project planning, experiment design, and discussion of results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support project-related activities.

You're a good fit if you have:
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op/internship assignment pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PHD degree in chemical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemistry.
• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year and Sophomore at an accredited University is required.
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the term.
• A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required.
• Candidates must be detail-oriented.
• A high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks is desired.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred.
• Comfortable working independently, as well as on a team

Desired Major in order: Chemical Engineering; Biochemical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Material Science or Engineering; Chemistry; Industrial Engineering.

Graduate Date: 2025 or 2026

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
