Overview

We are currently hiring for a Power BI Developer to work out of our Aliso Viejo, CA, Murrieta, CA or Columbia, SC office supporting our internal employees who are located at 30+ offices across the US. The Power BI developer will focus on the development and administration of BI tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in report and dashboard creation, coupled with expertise in Power BI workspace and tenant administration. The Power BI Developer reports to the Director of Data Architecture and is part of the company’s IT Data and Applications team which focus on supporting strategic business initiatives using custom built solutions. As a key member of our team, they will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights, providing valuable information to support decision-making processes.

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to understand needs, translating them into effective visualizations.
• Create and optimize data models for efficient reporting and analysis.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across various data sources.
• Integrate data from diverse sources into Power BI for comprehensive reporting.
• Manage Power BI workspaces, including permissions and apps.
• Maintain data refresh schedules of published datasets.
• Conduct troubleshooting on reports.
• Optimize queries, models, and visuals for improved responsiveness.
• Work with data engineer to improve data warehousing models.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for solutions, including data sources and report logic.
• Provide training and support for end-users.
• Stay in the loop with Power BI features and upgrades.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing.

- Strong understanding of SQL and experience writing complex queries.
- Proficiency in data modeling and optimization.
- Proficiency using DAX to create measures, summary tables, etc.
- Experience implementing Row Level Security in Power BI.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Ability to work well under pressure.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, business analytics, or another related field.
- 2+ years' of experience developing using Microsoft Power BI.
