The Writing Program, part of the English Department at the University of Pittsburgh, accepts applications for a part-time faculty, non-tenure track position?to teach a section of Writing Youth Literature in our undergraduate program (www.writing.pitt.edu). The appointment is renewable based on need, funding, and performance.?

The minimum basic qualification is an advanced degree (MFA or PhD or equivalent professional/publishing experience in young adult or middle-grade literature) in Creative Writing.?Preferred qualifications include a record of superior academic teaching or professional experience/publication; ability to be self-directed within broadly defined learning objectives; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse people in a highly multidisciplinary environment.?
