As a Medical Assistant Apprentice, your tasks will include:

  • Completion of 2000 hours of on-the-job training with the support and guidance of an experienced MA coach (paid)
  • Completion of 410 hours of supplemental coursework, online coursework (unpaid)
  • Attend 3 in-person lab days with an expert instructor to practice and demonstrate mastery of hands-on technical skills
  • Track and report job hours and skills as needed
  • Learn and demonstrate Certified Medical Assistant basics
  • Update patient records, prepare for visits, collaborate with providers, educate patients, assist during procedures, manage lab specimens, administer medication, and comply with healthcare regulations

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire
  • Medical knowledge to understand the theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine
  • Strong people skills to handle different personalities, backgrounds, and personal situations
  • Strong multi-tasking ability to handle the variety and pace of work
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR
