Shop Foreman - Military veterans preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees the production process and schedule for a custom fabrication and production line manufacturing company.
• Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
• Participate in counting inventory for cycle counts and maintain stock (i.e., tag, stack, sort, keep organized). Clean equipment and all shop areas
• Participate in lean activity and safety regulations
• Regularly make suggestions for improvement and work on continuous improvement projects for lean, quality and safety
• Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance, champion safety, lean and ISO goals
• Directs, monitors, and appraises the performance of personnel immediately reporting and provides the necessary coordination between activities. Coach, develop and motivate personnel to meet objectives.
• May approve some expenditure for shop supplies and materials
• Employ continuous improvement practices/training programs plus promote and enforce Health and Safety Standards
• Perform other work related duties as assigned and be flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur during the course of employment.

Education and Experience

• High school or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of 3 years of shop management experience in a fabrication environment required, 5 years experience preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Highly motivated and self-starter with the ability to plan and manage multiple simultaneous projects, set priorities, identify and address problems and deliver on time and on budget.
• Ability to accurately develop and update production tools, including contingency plans for unexpected problems.
• Possess outstanding leadership qualities, a never quit attitude, and desire to be part of an integrated team.
• Ability to develop a level of trust with the employees and motivate them to perform at their best and enjoy coming to work every day.
• Must be able to successfully function in a fast paced, high volume environment
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, plus demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of industrial hose industry preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Lift up to 70 lbs occasionally
• Stand for an extended period
• Working conditions are in a non-climate controlled environment
