Overview

Sev1Tech is seeking a Test Engineer to support the Program Executive Office (PEO) Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions (MLB) which manages the Logistics (LOG) Information Technology (IT) portfolio. This portfolio is composed of 300+ afloat and ashore IT systems/applications with 150,000+ users across all Naval Systems Commands (SYSCOMs) and Naval Operational Forces (NOF) to include ships, carriers, submarines, USN/USMC aviation squadrons, and Naval Expeditionary Forces. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a joint user of LOG IT capabilities and is part of the program requirements. LOG IT enables essential business operations for various capability groups.

Software Test Engineer for applications and systems software as a member of the Test and Evaluation team. Will be responsible for supporting, planning, coordinating, and executing verification, validation and testing of application and systems software.

Job duties would include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with software developers, engineers, business analysts, and requirements personnel to plan, coordinate and execute static analysis and dynamic testing of systems/software code to verify, validate acceptance and technical specifications.
  • Evaluate the test basis and support the refinement of requirements to ensure testability, clarity and correctness.
  • Author and maintain software test cases and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Conduct test design activities to identify and create test cases(positive and negative) traceable to system requirements.
  • Assist in the creation of software test plans to document the overall test strategy, test approach, test process, test schedule, pass/fail criteria, test environment architecture, test lab resources.
  • Conduct static and dynamic testing at all software testing levels to include integration, functional, system, and acceptance.
  • Accurately record and report defects found during test events and trace to resolution.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, sponsors, and customers to determine acceptance criteria and coordinate certification test events with end users.


Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • MUST have Current US DoD Secret level clearance.
  • Qualify as a DoD Cybersecurity Workforce member and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a test engineer.
  • Knowledge of testing business application and enterprise information systems.
  • Knowledge of static and dynamic software test activities.
  • Knowledge of agile or incremental software development life cycle models.
  • Skilled in utilizing software development management and issue tracking tools (JIRA).
  • Skilled in utilizing test management software (ex. Zephyr, TestRail)
  • Skilled in creating software test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, and test data conditions.
  • Skilled at mapping test cases to requirements and providing input to generate a requirements traceability matrix.
  • Ability to assess software products for readiness and determine pass/fail criteria.
  • Ability to determine test approaches, develop test schedules, and identify risks associated with testing.
