Responsibilities

Flex Shift - (Availability to work between the hours of 5:00 AM - 2:00 AM as this position may flex between 1st and 2nd shifts) Monday through Thursday

Starting Pay - $28.00/hr

Department - Maintenance

MSA Safety in Jacksonville, North Carolina is seeking a a Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing breakdown, corrective and preventative electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance on all production equipment. Prospective candidate will need to have This position reports to the Production Maintenance Supervisor. If you are interested in this position, we will be excited to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily standard work and complex operations successfully on electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance on all production, auxiliary, and facility equipment.
  • Performs set up and changeovers in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Responds to production emergencies, reporting any potentially dangerous situations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production, auxiliary, and facility equipment to manufacturer's specifications and test for proper performance.
  • Maintains and repairs facility equipment and structures.
  • Participate in the specification, building, rebuilding, installing and fabrication of electrical and electronic control systems.
  • Comply with all safe work practices which includes all company, local, state, and federal requirements. Ensure all machinery and facility comply with applicable safety codes such as OSHA, National Electric Code and National Fire Protection Agency.
  • Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to generate and process the maintenance repairs performed.
  • Industrial Maintenance/Mechanical experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple facets of industrial maintenance (welding, piping, sheet metal, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, A/C, etc.)
  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize a large number of tasks.
  • Must exhibit interaction skills necessary to communicate with co-workers of all levels.



Qualifications

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience Required:

  • 2 years of “hands-on” experience in industrial maintenance position in manufacturing setting
    • Knowledge of multiple facets of industrial maintenance including but not limited to electrical, PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation.
    • 4 years applicable military experience may be used as substitute.
    • Industrial control experience (preferred).
    • Automation control experience including sensors, I/O block communications, PLCs, HMIs (preferred).
    • Training certifications on mechanic maintenance modules (preferred).
