Job Description:

This is a Fall Co-op, running from July to December. On-site in Billerica, MA

Core Purpose:
Membrane separations play a critical role in the successful fabrication of our customers' products. Several tests are used to characterize membrane performance and pore size. Reducing variability in these tests helps make our processes more robust, leading to more consistent products for our customers. The bubble point test is the most variable membrane pore size measurement method.

In this role, you will:
• Understand how membranes are formed and how they function.
• Understand the physics behind pore size test measurements.
• Learn how the bubble point test is run, along with the function/role of the various test parameters.
• Evaluate various select membrane types and pore sizes with their standard test recipes. Understand why these might have different recipe parameters.
• Evaluate/optimize sampling plan and parameters to reduce test variability and cycle time.
• Learn and apply statistical methods as appropriate.
• Transfer knowledge/lessons learned to the team.

You're a good fit if you have:
• Possess a basic STEM background
• Familiarity with MS Excel
• Experience with statistics a plus.
• Will need to be hands-on in the lab/production area with some chemicals and computer-driven test equipment.
• May need to work within different labs at Billerica and Bedford sites

Desired Major & Graduation Date:
• Chemical or mechanical engineering, materials science, other engineering or STEM.
• Graduation 2025 or 2026 (Junior or Senior)
