Overview
Work with management to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and monitoring of cybersecurity systems and to ensure stable and secure operation of the company’s IT infrastructure and systems.
Responsibilities
Installing, administering, and troubleshooting network security solutions.
Updating software/hardware/systems with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
Performing/coordinating vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans.
Configuring security systems, analyzing security requirements, and recommending improvements.
Monitoring network traffic for suspicious behavior.
Intake, triage, investigation and documentation of security alerts.
Work with internal and external security partners to investigate and escalate or close security investigations.
Creating network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
Consulting with staff, managers, and executives about the best security practices and providing technical advice.
Configuring and supporting security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.
Training staff to understand and use security protocols
Assist with the evaluation of network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and make recommendations.
Create and maintain accurate system documentation.
Assist in the configuration, installation, and deployment of infrastructure projects.
Establish and develop strong relationships with service providers.
Serve as a backup to the Infrastructure Administrator position
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Computer science degree or equivalent experience required.
Three to five years previous work-related experience.
Experience with SIEM query languages
Excellent communication skills
