Leidos, is seeking a talented Branch Manager in the Aviation Software Department in Huntsville, AL. The team is developing multiple tactical decision aid software products and utilizes cutting-edge software tools and processes in order to implement and deliver releases to multiple DoD customers.  With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. This position is primarily a technical engineering function (not less than 90 percent) along with a direct line management responsibility (no more than 20 percent). 

Responsibilities:

• Branch management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: approving timesheets, meeting with employees regularly, monitoring employees’ coverage, being knowledgeable of employees’ career goals, meeting with employees for yearly appraisals, mentoring junior employees, and working closely with Branch/Department management. 

• The Manager must lead by example in ethics, attitude and discipline; must keep management informed of critical issues, and play a part in business development opportunities when requested.

• Since the candidate would be working closely with software testers, the ideal Manager would have multiple years of experience performing software testing. 

• A strong understanding of both manual and automated testing is required to help the Manager to help promote best practices and lessons learned to the other employees.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant technical experience; or Master's degree and 6+ years' experience.

• Have a proven track record of implementing software testing principles.

• Have strong analytical and process improvement skills along with a personal drive for details and quality workmanship are a must.

• Possess an aptitude for the technical skills required for software test and software quality engineering concepts.

• Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• Have good communication skills.

• Being self-motivated, paying attention to details, and working under deadlines are key elements of this position as well.

• Candidate must demonstrate a pattern of ethical decisions and a commitment to integrity at the individual level that conform to the Leidos Code of Ethics.

• The Manager must embody principles of servant-based leadership, realizing the importance of taking care of the employees entrusted to their oversight.

• Candidate must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area, or willing to relocate.

• Experience writing unit and integration tests with unit test frameworks is required.

• Experience developing test methods and procedures for software products using scripting and/or compiled languages is preferred.

• Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies is preferred.

• Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C and/or DO-278, RMF) is a plus. 

• Candidate is expected to accept constructive feedback from more senior software team members.

• The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams is highly desirable.

• Candidate must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
