The Shopper and Category Insights Manager guides a vision for the category with the retailer, developed through deep understanding of the Target Guest. Core to our Haleon approach is synthesizing shopper and category insights to build winning category strategies and assortment recommendations for the retailer and Haleon brands. 

The goal of the Shopper and Category Insights function is to be on the leading edge of thought leadership for the retailer, integrating the voice of the guest with advanced analytic insights, processes, and tools to drive vision and strategy.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Establish and cultivate relationships with Target Buyers to understand priorities and strategies to deliver winning omni channel approaches; be recognized as a strategic partner & thought leader

  • Develop integrated, inspiring, and insights-driven category growth initiatives to influence Target category strategies that drive sales and market share growth

  • Provide best in class insights & thought leadership, including fact-based, strategic, shopper-centric points of view that demonstrate deep shopper understanding

  • Leverage persuasive storytelling skills to communicate the voice of the guest including attitudes, behaviors, and motivations; conduct primary research in conjunction with HQ-based Shopper Insights team and Shopper Science Lab to support key initiatives

  • Apply insights and market research information (Circana, Numerator and Primary) as it relates to guest, category and department strategies

  • Lead category analytics for the local team and retailer including consumption and shopper behavioral data to identify category and competitive trends that may have major, long-term impact on goals and strategies

  • Lead annual category review process understanding the market, category trends, and omni-channel opportunities to make appropriate recommendations

  • Must drive for results that are customer focused

  • Broaden level of influence throughout Target enterprise, including non-purchasing functions

  • Engage cross-functional Haleon team to drive collaboration and support through the commercial planning process

  • Collaborate with Shopper Insights team to apply Category Leadership Platform strategies to Target, identifying knowledge gaps, shopper trends and developing vision for the category present and future state

  • Support Shopper Engagement in the development of communications through a first-rate understanding of shopper behavior

*This is a hybrid role and follows 2-3 day in office work requirement.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 + years of CPG retailer key account category management, shopper/consumer insights or related industry experience

  • Agile and quick learner with astute strategy abilities and mindset

  • Excellent communicator and presenter, with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and analytical skills to identify trends from multiple sources and translate into compelling storytelling

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams and Power BI

  • Experience analyzing multiple data sources to identify insights that lead to actionable recommendations

  • Experience working with Target systems, retail consumption sources (Circana TCN) and Panel Data (Numerator)

  • Must have competency in communication, specifically written, strong functional/technical skills, and able to manage a multi-project based workload

  • Demonstrates compliance with financial requirements and internal reporting policies

  • Demonstrates values and behaviors consistent with Haleon expectations
