The Department of Surgery at Emory Healthcare has an APP Nocturnist position available for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). This position provides medical care for patients on the overnight inpatient surgical specialty services at Emory Midtown Hospital and Winship at Emory Midtown. The Department of Surgery at Emory Midtown is a high volume, high acuity surgical service. The candidate will be expected to provide focused coverage of the general surgery, surgical oncology, colorectal, urology and otolaryngology head/neck surgery services. The role will include cross training on selected services. Clinical duties will include care of inpatient surgical patients, inpatient consults, and ED admissions of the subspecialty surgical services. The candidate with be part of an interprofessional team which includes Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, residents, fellows and attending physicians but will also have the autonomy of being the front-line inpatient provider for their service. This role is suited for APPs with at least 1-2 years of surgery experience and provides in-depth training for those interested in expanding their knowledge base and working in strong collaboration with multidisciplinary surgery team.
