The Air Force Civilian Service is looking for a Full-Time Licensed Clinical Social Worker, GS-12, to work in support of the 633 Medical Group, JB Langley-Eustis Air Force Base, Hampton, VA.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide a full range of professional social work services within an operational Air Force squadron. The incumbent serves as a member of a multidisciplinary Operational Support Team with the goal of building resiliency, enhancing human performance, and improving unit mission effectiveness. Clinical and administrative duties focus on education and prevention, psychosocial assessment and diagnosis, and evidenced-based interventions and treatment.



Salary Range: $88,183 - $114,634

- Master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
- Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands
- Meets all applicable credentialing requirements outlined in the local military treatment facility guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of their practice
- Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within past two years
- Practice will require clinical privileges at the host Military Treatment Facility
- Ability to observe and participate in squadron activities to identify psychosocial stressors and barriers to optimal human performance
- Ability to provide psychological consultation, education, and training to military medical professionals and military leaders, and facilitate referrals to military or community-based human service agencies and resources
-Skill to develop and implement initiatives to mitigate psychosocial stressors and risks and optimize airmen performance
- Ability to conduct psychodiagnostics assessments and provide evidence-based psychotherapy
- Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association to evaluate psychiatric disorders and apply professional diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of administration, scoring, and interpretation of select psychological and psycho-social measures to properly assess patient’s and family’s needs
