Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Mechanic B - 2nd shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00 - $30.60 per hour. The hours for second shift are as follows; 1:45 pm - 10:15 pm.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

Primary Function:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be repairing, installing, adjusting, or maintaining industrial production and processing machinery and hydraulic distribution system with minimal supervision.

Essential Task:

  • You will be responsible for repairs to the physical plant and all related equipment. Assuring that all machine tool repairs are within manufacturers guidelines.
  • You will collaborate with operators to observe, test, and evaluate operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • You will fabricate replacement parts. You will weld to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
  • You will perform test-runs on repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
  • You will examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • You will also clean and lubricate parts, equipment, and machinery.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
• Relocation is not offered for this role. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile distance of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039) to be considered.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:
• Trade or Technical School certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Aerospace experience

Skills:

Must be prequalified to work on defense projects, per the state department ITAR regulations.
