Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a contingent job opportunity for a full-time Metrology Calibration (METCAL) Technician I in Norfolk, VA.

Summary: The Metrology Calibration Technician I will support Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Code 212.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform administrative and technical coordination; conduct audits; perform liaison functions related to fleet interface with the COMNAVSEASYSCOM Metrology Calibration (METCAL) Program and METCAL Auditing Support.

• Provide calibration support for mechanical and electrical/electronic test equipment owned and used by MARMC's Engineering Department.

• For cost estimating purposes estimate any ODC/Material costs to support below calibration requirements.

• Provide MARMC Engineering Department calibration support as follows:

• Perform technical services in support of the MARMC ENGINEERING TEST EQUIPMENT CALIBRATION Program in accordance with MARMC INST 4355.1(series) Complete required forms necessary to process items received for calibration and maintain test equipment calibration records for all codes in Engineering Department.

• This includes continuous validation and correction of the METBENCH Calibration Management System (MCMS) and updating the Engineering Department's web-based calibration tracker.

• Outsource pieces of test equipment to an accredited commercial calibration facility for all items not supported by Navy Calibration Laboratories.

• The calibration accreditation must be in accordance with NAVSEA Ser 04RM/4391 Guidance for OEM Calibrations, dated Feb 2012 and NAVSEA Ser 04RM/4392 Guidance for CCA Calibrations, dated Feb 2012. Accreditation must be verified by the SME/POC.

• Schedule, coordinate, monitor, and track shipboard Gauge Calibration/Field Calibration Activity Certifications for all commands under MARMC's purview as stated in the METCAL Laboratory Requirements and Certification Guide.

• Conduct Calibration Capability Evaluations (CCE). Evaluate performance and management of the calibration programs, equipment, and personnel; solve operational, maintenance, and repair problems; recommend substitution of equipment, tools, and materials.

• Provide on-the-job training to personnel during any evolution. This includes specialized written and practical performance examinations to determine if personnel are eligible for certification as calibration technicians.

• Confer (orally and in writing) with representatives at all levels from outside activities and various commands (civilian and military), concerning specific equipment problems and other general NAVSEA metrology calibration matters.

• Upon completion of each site/ship visit, prepare and submit a written visit debrief. When requested, attend meetings, conferences, seminars etc.; document results/outcomes; prepare and submit report to SME/POC.

Minimum Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of two (2) years general experience in calibration administration.

• Minimum of two (2) years specialized experience tracking, maintaining, and updating METBENCH Calibration Management System (MCMS).

• Must possess or ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance

• Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

• A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

• A thorough working knowledge of the regulations, procedures and references including 4734.1B, ST700-AM-GYD-010 and ST700-AM-PRO-010.

• Documented completion of ISO 9001Auditor/Lead Auditor Training or completion within 90 days of contractor employee check-in.

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

ADA Notations:

• Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise

• Able to climb ladders, work aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.

• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 25 lbs. in weight

• Ability to work in office, warehouse, pier side, and shipboard locations.

• Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud, hearing protection may be required at times.

• Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
