About the role

We adding an Investment Associate to the AI and Enterprise team! This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the Pear Partners on every aspect of the investing business. This includes sourcing and assessing investment opportunities, building new companies, and collaborating closely with exceptional founders on radically ambitious visions across Enterprise and AI.

The Enterprise and AI teams focus on AI, Data, DevTools, Infrastructure, Security, and DeepTech companies, whose business models are based on high-tech innovation in engineering.

What you'll do

  • Thorough Research: Develop subject matter expertise across industries, including DevTools, Security, Databases, AI applications, and AI infrastructure.
  • Deal Sourcing: Actively source new investment opportunities through networking, events, and direct outreach. Build and foster relationships with founders and peer VC investors.
  • Investment Analysis: Lead due diligence of active investment opportunities, including market research, founder references, reading reviews and forums, expert interviews, and via online platforms. Lead the drafting of investment memos for this vertical
  • Portfolio Management: Assist in ongoing support of portfolio companies and ensure key support via Pear Initiatives
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a deeply technical field, such as engineering or product
  • Subject matter expertise in at least one of the following: AI/ML, dev tools, databases, security, or enterprise technology
  • A self-starter with a superior work ethic who thrives on ambitious goals
  • Attention to detail, project management, and desire to improve existing processes
  • Ability to excel in an entrepreneurial environment with ambiguity
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills
