Advancement - Associate VP Major Gifts
Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Portfolio Specialist is a professional development position reporting to the Director of Portfolio Management. The position will be responsible for managing the portfolios of major and annual gift prospects for maximum performance. The position will collaborate with development officers in the schools and units within their assigned liaison areas. The position provides guidance to gift officers on portfolio management, goal setting, and collaboration to ensure effective and strategic movement through the fundraising pipeline. This position will also coordinate closely with the offices of Advancement including, but not limited to, Annual Fund, Major Gifts Program, Leadership Giving, AIS, and Office of Research and Analytics.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising, preferably in higher education.

Experience in data driven research of individuals using industry standard software, web-based search tools, data management systems, social media and other methodologies; as well as MS Office suite Excellent organization skills, including the ability to manage multiple demands and/or projects simultaneously

Excellent problem-solving, project management, and organizational aptitude.

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college. Minimum of two years direct research, development or transferable experience required. Transferable experience includes: database management, records management, prospect research and/or direct major gift fundraising.

Demonstrated understanding of major gifts fundraising and/or portfolio management.
