**Description** The Job Accomodation Network at West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for an Employment Service Representative. The position provides support to both external and internal customers of the Job Accommodation Network (JAN) by receiving and appropriately processing customer requests. Incumbent performs various office support duties in support of core business operations. Provides program, as well as direct internal and external client support services, responds to inquiries and independently resolves matters of low to moderate complexity. Responsibilities require some judgment, resourcefulness and originality, but diverse guides and precedents are usually available to apply or adapt to the circumstances. Work effort has considerable impact on client services, program and project image, with potential legal liabilities.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate:
* Routes calls appropriately, documents messages, parcels requests to the appropriate consultant, mails/emails information to customers, or calls individuals to determine the next appropriate step. Creates and maintains entries into the JAN information system.
* Supports logistical planning and execution of audio and webcast trainings and internal events.
* Researches best practices for travel, ships, orders, and mails activities and prepares pre and post travel reimbursement forms. Assists with the preparation of consultants for external training.
* Assists in updating specific web pages.
* Analyzes data to propose solutions to streamline organizational processes.
* Reviews publications, magazines, newsletters on specific topics to assist in identifying relevant articles for JAN staff and for entry of pertinent and relevant data into JAN database system.
* Types letters, reports, proposals, charts, graphs, manuscripts, forms, and memoranda from rough draft to final form.
* Assists in training graduate students on answering and routing contacts.
**Work Schedule:** This position will operate on a hybrid schedule.
**Qualifications**
* Associate's degree in medical technology, human resources or a related field.
* Two (2) years of customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
* Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology.
* Skilled in active listening which includes giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interruption at inappropriate times.
* Skilled in service orientation by actively looking for ways to help people.
* Skilled in critical thinking by using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
* Skilled in social perceptiveness by being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
* Skilled in monitoring and assessing the performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
* Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with a diverse constituency.
* Knowledge of resources for individuals with disabilities to support self-employment and small business development.
* Skilled in systematically prioritizing service demands in high stress situations.
* Must be proficient with moving, saving, and retrieving files in various types of programs.
* Must be highly detail oriented to ensure information is entered correctly into the JAN information technology system with perfect accuracy.
* Knowledge of, or ability to, quickly learn effective use of disability terminology and human resource language and techniques.
* Knowledge of federal and state disability resource systems.
* Ability to analyze complex disability-related questions in a fast-paced, and at times, stressful environment and promptly respond in a consistent, professional, timely manner.
