Controller Micro Matics is looking for a Controller for their Fridley, Minnesota location. About the role – Manage and Operate in the Finance/Accounting Department Fulfill a leadership role in Supply Chain/Procurement/Inventory Management Potentially fulfill Benefits Coordination duties as part of payroll processing function. Active member of the Leadership Team Job Duties: Support and evaluate department goals, objectives, and staffing needs The role may have direct reports in accounting and purchasing. Be a hands?on leader by: owning’ the entire process for the respective departments which allows for strong synergy within the teams. Continual drive to enhance department and organizational performance. Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Manage all banking relationships in partnership with the President. Manage all external financial and tax audit interactions/processes in partnership with the President. Manage all cash flow analysis, monitoring and reconciliations. Ensure all Accounts Payable and Debt payments are paid in a timely fashion. Ensure that Accounts Receivable are collected promptly. Process and reconcile all cash/ACH/wire transactions. Process Payroll in a timely manner Potential for this to be covered by alternate coworker. Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed accurately, and on time. Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts including monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. This may or may not involve the assistance of an accountant depending on staffing needs. Maintain orderly accounting filing and transaction control systems. Compile and issue timely financial statements. Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate financial reports. Calculate and issue financial and operational metrics as needed for the President and/or Leadership Team. Report on budget variances as well as other significant financial issues to the President and/or Leadership Team. Provide financial analysis as needed for capital investments, contract negotiations with vendors on pricing, terms, etc. Provide annual financial budgets and intermittent forecasts and projections as required. Monitor debt levels and covenants. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Assure government, industry, and professional registrations are completed accurately and on time. Experience: Experience using statistical software packages, including, QC Cal, MS Excel, and MS Access. Ability to trouble shoot network interface, desktop, and application issues. Support QC team in daily functions such as First Article (Set-Up), in-process, and final inspections. Candidate must have experience for evaluation of machined parts (burrs, surface damage, cleanliness etc.) Must be able to interpret blueprints with GD&T and have practical and/or formal training in Inspection documentation including experience using inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, thread gauges, plug gauges, comparators, microscope, etc.) and process improvement tools, including SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma methods. Candidate must be well versed in non-conformance documentation. Needs to have solid communication skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision. Candidate needs to be a self-motivated team player with an excellent work ethic, with the ability to recognize open tasks and a self-commitment to completing those tasks in a n accurate and timely fashion. Needs to maintain compliance with company’s ISO 13485, ISO 9001-AS9100 certified procedures/practices. Candidate must be able to work overtime if need be. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting highly preferred, but equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration could apply as well. 10 years of progressive Finance experience, ideally in the CNC Machining or manufacturing industry. 3 years of leadership experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge and experience with ERP software (Job Boss, NetSuite, etc.) Experience with Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational and leadership abilities. Strong ability to analyze data for trends and opportunities.
