Job Summary: The Global Tax Outsourcing (GTO) Intern will utilize their educational background and organizational skills while taking direction from more experienced team members to become familiar with assisting in consulting with clients on cross-border tax reporting and compliance matters. Overall responsibilities include ensuring that input, output and project management are conducted to BDO's quality standards while conducting tax administration for overseas tax compliance; utilizing the GTO tools; supporting Request For Proposal responses; general administration; and ensuring that the Global Tax Outsourcing processes are followed in compliance with firm policies and procedures. Job Duties: Assists with running of several client projects including the management of reporting and compliance obligations for a number of overseas entities Deals with multiple deadlines, and prioritization of tasks to ensure client deadlines are met Ensures all clients’ needs are met by answering GTO team’s queries promptly Assists the GTO team with new client transitions Liaises with BDO Global offices and other BDO service line streams as necessary Produces and enhances the reporting process by utilizing technology tools available and adding efficiency for data processing, evaluation and cataloging Supports the GTO team with implementing process improvements and efficiencies Maintains awareness of risk and deliver high quality documents Becomes involved in non-client projects/ad-hoc pieces of work to raise profile within the team Participates in sales and marketing activities Provides support with engagement administration/billing/collection for Global Tax Outsourcing team Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program with a focus in Accounting, required Experience: Experience in a professional services firm or working for an outsourcing services provider, preferred Experience supporting international operations and US clients, preferred License(s)/Certification(s): N/A Software: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, preferred Knowledge of SharePoint and/or Smartsheet, preferred Knowledge of accounting software, preferred Language(s): Proficiency in more than one language, preferred Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Good judgment and strong reasoning skills Strong technical acumen Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate with diverse personalities at all organizational levels of the firm in a tactful and mature manner Flexibility to deal with changing situations and reporting deadlines Ability to respond tactfully and professionally in high demand situations Excellent written and verbal communicate skills Excellent organization/computer skills with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle various projects simultaneously Ability to work independently or within a group environment Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. California Range: $28.00/hr - $37.00/hr New York City/ Valhalla Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr Washington Range: $28.00/hr - $37.00/hr
