Film 45 is an Oscar nominated and EMMY award-winning production company creating non-scripted documentaries, live events, and branded content for film, television, and digital platforms. We’re looking for a strong, in-house IT Manager to become an integral part of our IT team in our dog friendly, Westside office. This is an ideal position for someone with experience supporting IT in a Production facility capacity who is looking to be part of a well built and ever growing team. We currently have active projects (docu-series / unscripted / commercials) with Amazon, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and are searching for a confident self-starter with interest in the industry. Position Summary The IT Manager is responsible for the operation and support of all IT systems within the company. IT Manager plays a critical role by directly supporting all team members, providing timely and quality desktop hardware, software and mobile device troubleshooting, employing a high degree of customer service, technical expertise and responsiveness. This position requires a strong work ethic and the ability to work well under pressure while prioritizing multiple requests. To be successful in this role the candidate must have the ability to identify the root cause of an issue or non-optimal workflow and swiftly assess and optimize. Major Duties and Responsibilities Can lead a team and delegate responsibilities. Must be able to identify areas where your team can improve and either train them yourself or find appropriate training programs for them to grow”. Once you have identified an area for improvement, and socialized it with the key stakeholders, you must then be able to complete and close the project. Assist the entirety of Film 40’s with any IT issues (computer, tablets, video/audio streaming devices, printers, phones, etc). Monitor Helpdesk system for inbound issues. Assess issues quickly and professionally, and take steps to resolve while keeping all stakeholders informed of the progress. Ensure all issues are logged, documented and closed in the Helpdesk system. Coordinate with Endeavor IT to oversee the setup of Film 40’s email accounts and email onboarding. Perform Film 4O’s specific software account set-ups per onboarding requests and individual requests; as well roll-over and offboarding requests. Handle immediate need activities such as video conference setups, onboarding new employees and office reconfigurations. Provide support including user management, Mac hardware, IOS, applications, mobile and telecom support. Assist in preparing computers, installing applications using JAMF, testing, maintaining and supporting Macs and peripherals for all staff, including assisting new editors, producers and AEs get set up efficiently on their first day. Troubleshoot and help editorial staff with basic Avid and Premiere computer issues, including assisting with build and set up edit bays. Maintain and troubleshoot issues with the Nexis, Spectra Black Pearl and Storage DNA using support contracts. Maintain and troubleshoot internet issues with Endeavor Infrastructure team and ISP. Communicate and coordinate directly with Endeavor IT regarding larger IT issues that may arise. Assist with image new stations/computers. Maintain and update equipment purchased to asset tracker. Assist Head of Post departments with determining workflows and hardware solutions for productions that have specific, out of the ordinary requirements. Make sure server rooms/cabling are always tidy, organized, and clearly labeled. Assist with drafting and managing post infrastructure documentation and one-sheets. Detailed understanding of Windows Active Directory assigning OU’s, Security Groups and UPN’s. Understanding of SSO and the ability to identify good use cases on where to deploy. Be hyper security conscious when performing day-to-day tasks; helping identify blindspots and collaborate and deploy improvements. Education and Work Experience Minimum of 2 years of IT experience, with escalating levels of responsibility. Not required, but preferred, working experience in a Production Studio facility supporting both Production and Post workflows. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, especially as it pertains to process execution testing, policies and procedures, labeling and documenting. Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to be able to explain clearly and simply technological issues to varying levels of users and VIPs. Mac hardware, application OS and mobile troubleshooting skills. Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills. Ability to successfully prioritize multiple responsibilities. Basic understanding of Post Production/Avid/Premiere/Resolve workflows and technical troubleshooting is required. Must also have the flexibility to travel to other sites when required. Must be comfortable with managing the unexpected, requiring last minute shifts in schedules, including but not limited to issues potentially requiring extra hours, evenings and weekends at short notice. Requirements Basic understanding of post-production workflows, technical environments and terminology. Basic technical troubleshooting required, including Mac OS, Google Drive, Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 10 desktops and laptops, Microsoft Office 2010, 2013 and 2016 productivity software, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Server and Windows Server. Knowledge of Mac OSX installation and configuration as well as Office for Mac and an ability to triage all Apple ecosystem hardware. Demonstrated proficiency in the following applications: Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, Google Suite. Understanding of JAMF device management software. Cisco AnyConnect VPN Configuration and Administration, Exposure to Telecoms systems such as Avaya, Cisco, and Shoretel. Basic understanding of Post Production workflows and terminology. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift and move up to 30lbs. Must be willing to submit a background check. Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
