Overview

The Physical Security Engineer (Video Surveillance/Access Control/Integration) position collaborates with a team of sales, estimation, engineering, and field technicians to ensure proposed solutions, are communicated, and implemented appropriately, to the budget, and with the best client satisfaction.

** This position is on-site in Torrance, CA**

Compensation Range: $90,000/ yr.- $115,000/ yr. and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision; paid vacation and holidays; and a 401k matching program.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

  • Proactively Communicate with the physical security team members and provide the best practices and methods on programing and installation of the related hardware and applications.
  • Coordinate closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources to review, understand, and implement the designed solution matched with customers business and/or bid requirements.
  • Willing to learn and get trained periodically about the latest technical updates and innovations in physical security era and participate on manufacturer or company technical trainings.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Review input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer firm. Adapts solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support.
  • for pre-engineering site walks to support estimation.
  • Travel to job sites for post engineering tasks, review the proposed solution with stakeholders and check the bill of material prior to purchase.
  • Provide technical documentation and work closely with CAD department on project close out documentation.
  • Provide support to team-member field technicians to enhance their product knowledge.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Build strong win-win relationships with other departments within VectorUSA.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of engineering experience in a business-to-business, large/strategic customer segment for the following products:
    • Video Surveillance Software (preferred)
      • Qognify Ocularis 5.x Professional/Enterprise/Ultimate
      • Milestone Xprotect VMS (Corporate, Expert and Professional Plus)
      • Avigilon ACC Software, all versions
      • Wisenet Wave VMS
      • Verkada
      • Eagle Eye Cloud VMS
    • Video Surveillance Hardware
      • Cameras: Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, Bosch, Verkada, Eagle Eye, etc..
      • Servers: Seneca/DELL , HPE, Cisco UCS
    • Access Control/ Intercom Hardware
      • Hirsch/Identiv
      • Brivo
      • Avigilon ACM
      • SALTO
      • Verkada
      • Keyscan
      • Axis/2N
      • Aiphone
    • Network and Data Center Infrastructure
      • Microsoft Windows Server
      • VMWare vSphere

  • A high-level understanding of Data Center virtualization and Windows system administration is highly desirable.
  • Detail understanding of the Low voltage systems, as well as communication protocols are required.
  • Project coordination and management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills.
