Position summary

As the Design Engineer, you are an integral part of the Enidine Engineering team initially focused on our Seismic product line with an opportunity to work on numerous product lines across the Industrial and Aerospace businesses. You directly participate in projects involving the design and development of force / vibration dampening products. You will generate initial product concepts and designs, tooling designs, drawings, and BOMs based on customer data, loads, performance requirements, material applicability and environmental constraints. You will lead and ensure the progress of assigned projects; develop designs, data, specifications, processes, and reports throughout the product development process and present out to internal / external customers for technical reviews.



Responsibilities

  • Support project goals and tasks with engineering leadership, finance, testing, quality, program management, and production support functions
  • Supports the design and development of custom products in the prototype, production, and test life cycle phase; technology including shock absorbers, Linear and non-linear fluid viscous dampers for buildings, bridges and other structures; Visco-Elastic Dampers(Snubbers); and special products to meet customer expectations.
  • Design and analysis to meet internal and customer requirements
  • Estimate manufacturing timeline /planning / verification/testing /validation.
  • Assist in tool design and fixtures as needed to manufacture, assemble and test products
  • Solve technical problems in the development lab or in the factory
  • Generate parts lists and digital bills of material, including sub-assemblies, fasteners, tooling and hardware accurately based on design requirements
  • Develop procedures for part and systems, including Acceptance Test Procedures/ Reports, Qualification Test Procedures, Qualification by Analysis and Similarity Reports, etc.
  • Generate 3D models and 2D, including interface control, installation, top assembly, detail, and sub-components, using both ANSI and geometric tolerance rules


Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, or comparable, with 3+ years’ experience in engineering design and development environment
  • Design experience with metals for structures and mechanical systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in CAD modeling and engineering drawings (preferred SolidWorks)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools

Desired Capabilities:

  • Product development background, ideally in fluid viscous damper products, hydraulic products experience helpful
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes for mechanical components
  • Test plans, test procedures, conducting development and qualification testing
  • Experience with simulation and analysis
  • Experience with project engineering and technical leadership
  • Familiarity with RTCA/DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
  • Strong Leadership skills
