Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Respond to customer comfort calls. These are usually hot/cold calls caused by the failure of HVAC equipment or controls.
Troubleshoot, repair and or replace VAV boxes, PIU units, controllers, thermostats, valves, and valve controllers as required.
Complete preventive maintenance (PM) as assigned including performing general maintenance and repairs.
Assist senior mechanics with more complex tasks or major repairs/modifications.
Learn and demonstrate appropriate alarm responses to common PLC initiated alarms.
Exposed to commercial mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all customers.
Must be able to organize your workload efficiently to meet all the customers’ needs.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with hand tools and test equipment.
Working knowledge and experience with the following facilities systems is preferred, HVAC, VAV, Dual Duct Terminal units (Hot Deck/Cold Deck) and associated pneumatic controls.
Ability to read and interpret basic layout drawings, system drawings and manufacturers' equipment specifications.
Knowledge of standard and maintenance practices.
High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
