Job Title: Bartender

Reports To: Food and Beverage Director/ Dining Room Manager

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing beverage service to club members and guests at Vasari Country Club

HOURS/DAYS

Hours and days fluctuate according to the wants and needs of the members and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Inspects the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies including glassware are available and fully stocked.
  2. Follows bar set up procedures.
  3. Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks.
  4. Keeps a daily inventory of beer/wine/liquor and lets manager know when items are running low.
  5. Mixes, prepares and serves drinks according to drink recipes, and standard club pours for members at the bar and for servers tables in the dining room.
  6. Knowledge of all bar products.
  7. Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
  8. Distributes menus to members and guests.
  9. Describes any specials of the day to members and guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item. Offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
  10. Takes food and beverage order for members and guests.
  11. Complies with all laws/policies relating to the service of alcohol.
  12. Follows up with members and guests to ensure satisfaction. Replenish items as needed.
  13. Removes dirty dishes.
  14. Charges the bill to members account.
  15. Keeps bar and equipment clean, well stocked and organized.
  16. Performs clean up and closing duties.
  17. Advises Department Leaders of any complaints.
  18. Performs clean-up and closing duties.
  19. Attends any food and beverage meetings.
  20. Performs end of shift reports and credit card reports and ensures that everything is correct.
  21. After finishing duties pertaining to the bar, he/she is to help on the floor until the entire team is finished for their shift.
  22. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum two (2) years experience as a bartender required (experience in private club preferred). Must possess knowledge of proper dining room service. Must possess excellent interpersonal communicational skills and ability to interact professionally with members and guest while under pressure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
