You will be responsible for coordinating vehicle and driver schedules and troubleshooting issues which arise due to driver and/or equipment changes, customer needs and other planned and unplanned events. Requirements:
  • Insure that each Operator is prepared for, has the proper instruction, paperwork and advances for given assignment
  • Confirm that the equipment assigned to the driver is prepared for the assignment
  • Schedule operators and coaches accordingly
  • Maintain adequate equipment to accommodate the daily Dispatch schedule
  • Communicate and monitor the maintenance department regarding all road call situations
  • Monitor Operator behavior and assignments in accordance with DOT laws and regulations
  • Responsible for the execution, completion and follow through verifying hours of all mandatory daily paperwork and forms
  • Resolve and/or assist customer service issues
  • Verify Hours of Service availability and Fit for Duty requirements
  • Visual inspection of license, medical card and log book
  • Arrange per diem, hotel accommodations
  • Audit work tickets against dispatch day sheet/schedule
  • Complete out of service and equipment inventory reports
  • Post bids/schedules/charters
  • Reports compliance and company policy issues to Dispatch Supervisor
  • Recommends disciplinary action when appropriate
  • Transfer and receive information from shift to shift
 Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in dispatching/ transportation is a plus- although we will train the right candidate
  • Knowledge of DOT Safety rules, Hours of service, Federal and State Regulations for facilities and operators
  • Write routine reports and correspondence
  • Exemplary Communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to understand the cause/effect of decisions and how they impact the operation
  • Ability to maintain employee morale and loyalty with diverse workforce
  • Available on weekends, holidays, days, and nights and work flexible shifts depending on the operation’s needs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends; this includes shifts from 3AM to 10:30AM and / or 10:30AM to 6PM 
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred with “P” and Air Brake endorsement or must qualify for the this certification
