ASC is looking for a Director of Operations that will lead a team of over 90 employees across three locations within the PPS Team, improving operations through the development of talent, and full deployment of the Lean and Continuous Improvement toolkit. Success will be determined by improving Safety, customer delivery, quality, working capital optimization, and margin expansion. The Director of Operations will be expected to deliver on financial commitments and create a results-focused culture where performance is measured, and problem solving, and collaboration are key.

How You Will Help:

Working with a high degree of freedom and autonomy within a disciplined framework, the Director of Operations will develop and implement a robust continuous improvement program at ASC Engineered Solutions. This will entail creating a 12-month roadmap of improvement projects, a monthly operating cadence with scorecards and action plans, and regularly executed Kaizen & Continuous Improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities for the role:

  • Be accountable for all Operations Manufacturing which includes both assembly and machining, Quality, Delivery, Planning (SIOP), assembly, shipping, and some warehousing. EHS and Purchasing.
  • Lead a renewed continued commitment to Lean Manufacturing, CI and Operational Excellence initiatives across all locations. Deploying new technologies, automation, numerous capital improvement projects, optimizing the manufacturing footprint through expansion and consolidation efforts.
  • Drive the operating cadence across all locations including scorecards, KPI's, action plans, remediation where necessary, problem-solving tools, and cadence to meet / exceed annual objectives.
  • Report out regularly to senior management, including CEO, COO, and CFO on operational performance, industry trends, leading indicators, and trends impacting the business.
  • Participate in the budgeting process through partnering with site leaders, controllers, and other functional leads. Thoughtfully create presentations and execution of the process ensuring clarity of the data, metrics, and improvements.
  • Develop, retain, motivate, and lead a high-performance team in a collaborative culture.
  • Use performance management tools and processes as an advocate for coaching, and building a high performing, and effective team.

The Director of Operations role provides an opportunity for a skilled leader to have a substantial positive impact on profitability and improvement within a growing business. In addition, this candidate and role is viewed as a succession candidate to the Vice President Operations, and VPGM roles within ASC Engineered Solutions.

What You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • High energy and transformation leadership experience in operations setting.
  • Ability to manage a complex high mix/high volume, build-to-order business environment.
  • High drive and low ego.
  • Customer centric mentality driving value and growth for the customer.
  • Comprehensive background as a Lean leader and practitioner working within a lean environment.
    • Experience with Kaizen, Daily Management or Leader Std Work, Value Stream Mapping, X-Matrix, SMED, Std Work, Continuous Flow, and A3, 8D problem solving methodologies.
