GDIT has an exciting opportunity as a SECURITY OFFICER supporting our Intelligence Division in Herndon, VA. The selected individual will play a meaningful part in providing a variety of personnel and physical security tasks.. Are you able to perform well in a complex, fast-paced, demanding environment? HOW A SECURITY OFFICER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Perform a variety of physical security tasks in support of the facility security function, including assisting employees with obtaining ID badges, identification cards and reader access
- Facilitates team progress through timely and effective management of all aspects of the security
- Keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor's access to restricted records and materials. Provides security advice and assistance to team-mates across the enterprise
- Utilize security database to capture actions and ensure data integrity
- Advise and assist with physical security requirements of secure facilities
- Works closely with HQ's Facility Security Officer on security related matters
- Responsible for managing some onsite physical security, which includes but is not limited to access control system, processing and maintaining badges for program personnel, and facility upgrades as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Education: High School diploma required
• Required Experience: 6+ years of security officer experience
• Required Technical Skills: Access Control Database knowledge is required, Working knowledge of CCURE 9000 (Access Control Software)
• NBIS , Microsoft Office, Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
• Working knowledge of Security Information Management System (SIMS) database software
• Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret required to start and willingness to sit for POLY
• Required Skills and Abilities: Communication and problem solving
• Location: On Site
