This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
As the Senior Product Manager, U.S. Managed Care Marketing you will develop and lead the strategy and execution of the FRM (field reimbursement management) program at Abbott Diabetes Care. Addressing patient affordability and access is a critical need in the evolving managed care landscape. You will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, regulatory and government teams to bring reimbursement support to HCP offices. You will be engaged in the customer strategy, planning and execution (e.g. training, data tracking, and resources) to meet solve the complex reimbursement issues that our HCP offices encounter. You will be responsible for improving affordability for patients and removing friction from HCP offices for the FreeStyle Libre Brand.
What You’ll Work On
Lead the tactical execution and strategic planning around standing up an FRM team.
Develop the launch strategy and coordinate communications and program requirements across cross-functional teams involved (HCP leadership, Consumer Access, Customer Service, vendor support and more)
Coordinate operations of program with 3rd party vendor and managing to defined budget
Manage marketing/advertising agencies and associated budget to ensure high quality, timely deliverables
Connect and understand payer accounts to HCP connections and gaps both regionally and nationally, identify potential channels. and execute marketing tactics targeting specific accounts.
Review and utilize market research and other marketplace intelligence to ensure alignment of relevant managed care marketing plans and tactics
Assist with payer pull-through initiatives, including design and implementation of key field access tools and resources
Partner with Business Analytics on the delivery of market insights and dashboards that inform linking reimbursement support to affordability and retention outcomes
Develop insights, strategies, and tactics for reimbursement, distribution, and access to include, but not limited to coverage dashboards, access website support, payer team tools, market access account team messaging and access-related sales tools.
This role may also lead and support the employer market development strategy
Potentially manage one direct report to support other HCP pullthrough activities
Ensure that all activities within the role of Sr Product Manager, U.S. Managed Care Marketing remain in compliance with all corporate, regulatory, and legal guidelines
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Marketing, product management, any biological/clinical sciences with at least 4-6 years related experience, with at least one year of experience in marketing or product management, or MBA with 1-3 years of related experience.
Strong presentation & listening skills.
Ability to think on their feet a plus and a strong customer-centric mentality.
Preferred Qualifications
Broad pharmaceutical and/or medical device experience, including experience in payer marketing, market access/managed markets.
Understanding of current market access trends, Inflation Reduction Act and knowledge of consumer access programs
Understanding of competitor dynamics and portfolio strategy/positioning
Category experience preferred in diabetes, medical device and/or therapeutics

The base pay for this position is $125,700.00 – $251,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
