As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Department Head of Program Management and Logistics at our Colorado Springs, CO location.

The Department Head of Program Management and Logistics will play a pivotal role in overseeing and developing our program management and logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of professionals, developing and implementing strategic plans for the organization, and ensuring the successful execution of programs and projects within the High Power Electromagnetics (HPEM) division.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, mentor, and develop the program management team responsible for planning, executing, and completing division programs
  • Develop processes, templates, and structure to provide PML team and technical project leads with tools for successful execution of projects and to inform division planning for hiring, forecasting, and resource coordination
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure successful outcomes
  • Coordinate and monitor technical matters to include program costs, sufficient labor, and timing
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of program managers
  • Provide leadership to drive excellence in program management
  • Foster Collaboration and Innovation within team and organization
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate and division management, department heads, venture leads, government sponsors and subcontractors
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address program, personnel, and logistics-related issues
  • Advise senior management of program status and important issues
  • Actively performs risk management and pursues risk reduction on assigned programs
  • Oversee program quoting and cost estimating activities
  • Assist supporting departments with program related issues requiring customer interface

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field or extensive program management experience (10+ years)
  • Significant understanding of federal program management and proven experience in program management and logistics within the defense industry; knowledge of government procurement, contracting, standards and specifications
  • Significant working knowledge of engineering, operations, system integration and test, quality assurance, configuration management, logistics, contract administration, standard business practices, finance, and the relationship of programs within a portfolio
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically and make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
  • US Citizenship required
  • May require light physical effort, involving standing, sitting and use of hands while performing duties, carrying or lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Working environment is indoor, moderately quiet, reasonably clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated, moderate physical hazards may exist

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Exposure or experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) projects
  • Top Secret security clearance

Salary Range: $135,000 - $180,000 (DOE)
