Leidos is seeking an Information Assurance (IA) Engineer to support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Navy Qualified Validation (NQV) related efforts for the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract. SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the SMIT contract, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. What Youll Get to Do: The IA Engineer will serve in a small team conducting assessments of cybersecurity risk by evaluating NMCI circuit, site, and solution authorization packages, including acting as a point of contact for Risk Management Framework (RMF) Validation related activities of the assigned packages, ensuring they meet applicable security requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: •Preparing and submitting the Security Assessment Plan (SAP) with program assistance. •Executing the approved SAP. •Assessing RMF documentation in compliance with DoD and Navy policy and guidance, including but not limited to associated processes, procedures, and activities in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, DoDI 8551.01, Navy SCA Testing Guide and other applicable NIST instructions, guidelines. •Assessing compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). •Review of automated scan data. •Performing a complete Risk Assessment of all security controls, known threats and vulnerabilities. •Drafting risk reports of current architecture, mitigations, and security risk posture. •Ensuring traceability of all vulnerabilities from raw assessment results to the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M). •Updates to the POA&M based on the assessment results. •Briefing leadership on vulnerabilities in support of the A&A efforts. •Assessing and documenting risk and performing security control assessment and documentation of compliant and failed security controls in eMASS. •Making corrections to eMASS record. •Completing a Security Assessment Report (SAR), in conjunction with the SCA, based on the assessment results. •Preparing the SAR Executive Summary, with assessment results, for SCAL review. •Supporting the continuous monitoring program as necessary. Youll Bring These Qualifications: •Require B.S. Degree and 8–12 years of prior relevant experience in order to operate within the scope contemplated by the level (in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field). •Must be US Citizen and have an active DoD Secret Clearance. •DOD 8570 IAT level III or higher certification, such as CISSP. •Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) Certificate. •Strong experience with RMF. •Ability to multi-task, self-assign work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. •Strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership. •Technical knowledge and skills in one of the following areas: cybersecurity assessment, vulnerability scanning, integration and testing, data analytics or security operations. •Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, including business writing on complex topics. •Technical understanding of supporting security initiatives, conducting security monitoring, reporting and maintaining security compliance following security regulations and policies. •Motivated self-starter with ability to lead and work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and program leadership. •Ability to lead/mentor junior level colleagues. These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: •Hands-on experience with a variety of cybersecurity tools. •Hands-on experience in working with DoD networks. •Hands-on experience in working with Cloud Authorizations. •Experience with automation. •Knowledge of cybersecurity assessment and authorization (A&A) and associated processes, procedures, and activities in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8551.01, and other applicable NIST instructions, guidelines. •Experience supporting the formal Cybersecurity/IA testing required by government accrediting authorities, and preparing Security Assement Reports. •An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to drive innovation independently; have a passion to improve at every opportunity. •Proven able to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
