We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Inventory & Material Manager to lead our military programs' supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing inventory, ensuring seamless material flow, and utilizing an ERP system for efficient planning and execution. Additionally, this role involves managing, leading, and mentoring a dedicated team, while working closely with the purchasing department to enhance overall supply chain effectiveness.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

ERP System Utilization:

Leverage the capabilities of the ERP system for accurate tracking, management, and reporting of inventory levels.

Lead the full implementation of the ERP system, ensuring a seamless transition and integration into existing processes.

Support and help optimize the use of the ERP system to enhance Supply Chain, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SI&OP) processes.

Material Flow Optimization:

Oversee the movement of materials within the business, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to various cells or production facilities.

Collaborate with logistics teams to streamline material transportation and distribution.

SI&OP Integration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the Inventory and Material Management processes into the overall SI&OP framework.

Align inventory levels with production schedules, demand forecasts, and military program requirements.

Purchasing Collaboration:

Work closely with the purchasing department to understand procurement strategies and align inventory needs with purchasing initiatives.

Collaborate on material specifications, and procurement processes for improved overall supply chain efficiency.

Demand Forecasting:

Work closely with Program Managers to accurately forecast material needs based on military program schedules and mission requirements.

Implement data-driven approaches to improve forecasting accuracy and responsiveness.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Utilize advanced analytics within the ERP system to generate reports on inventory performance, stock levels, and other key metrics.

Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in inventory management processes.

Team Management and Mentorship:

Lead and manage a dedicated team of inventory and material professionals.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Process Development and Improvement:

Drive initiatives focused on process development and improvement within the supply chain, emphasizing efficiency and effectiveness.

Identify opportunities for innovation and implement best practices to enhance overall supply chain performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Material Managemer in military programs, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in utilizing ERP systems for inventory management and SI&OP processes.
  • Strong understanding of military supply chain logistics and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within a military program environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
