Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to maintaining the requirement of ISO 9001:2015 and ASME SECV III and NOV Quality Management System.
  • Participates in quality assessment audits, such as customer inspection, ISO 9001:2015, ASME SEC VII, etc.
  • Supervises, plans and coordinates quality inspection department for a team of +5 inspectors
  • Ensures that labor is utilized in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Interfaces with various groups including support departments such as engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing in addition to vendors and customers to provide the highest quality product and best customer satisfaction.
  • Develops training programs as required to improve employee skills.
  • Actively pursues and suggests operational improvements to enhance quality, improve production, throughput, and cost reduction.
  • Leads, mentors change, and motivates workers to provide and instill a positive work environment.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and work orders in order to assign the appropriate duties to subordinate staff.
  • Ensures compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
  • Responsible for performance monitoring and evaluation in addition to compensation administration for subordinate employees.
  • Develops plans for measurement system analysis & conducts gauge reliability and repeatability studies when needed.
  • Provides disposition, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and methods of verification for issued nonconformity reports.
  • Monitors operational and quality metrics in areas of rejections, scrap, rework, supplier performance, etc.
  • Supports and participates in the company's continual improvement projects.
  • Develops quality inspection techniques and control plans for the various manufacturing processes and products.
  • Develops and maintains receiving, in-process, and outgoing inspection processes.
  • Fully understanding of Quality Management System.
  • Planning-ability to develop objectives and recommend short-term and long-term quality plans for the company.
  • Able to analyze processes, inspection techniques, inspection equipment, statistical data, etc. in order to recommend improvements.
  • Understanding of drawings with complexity and tight tolerance.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proven leadership demonstration to effectively orchestrate human resources and training functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Must demonstrate a proven ability to coordinate, direct and maintain highly confidential work and materials.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4 year degree or higher needed
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ASME SEC VIII:2019 requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory role in manufacturing industries.
  • Experienced with union shop rules
  • Machining experience and knowledge are preferred but not required
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, and competing demands
  • Must have the ability to work extended hours and on-call to support production and customer requirements 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
  • Ability to regularly follow up on ongoing quality issues to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to organize inspection and process controls for the most efficient operation
  • Ability to diagnose process and product problems and initiate corrective actions
