Position Summary:

As the Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for compiling and analyze financial information to prepare and submit monthly journal entries and account reconciliations. The position will assist in researching and implementing accounting guidance related to new transactions and accounting pronouncements. As part of this process, the Accountant will continue to develop and maintain strong research and technical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs analysis on financial information to ensure its accuracy
  • Prepares various schedules to support the financial information presented
  • Prepares and posts journal entries and account reconciliations mainly related to various asset and liability accounts which includes but not limited to debt, interest accruals, other assets and capitalized software
  • Run and compile monthly internal financial reporting package
  • Assists with annual, quarterly, or monthly closing procedures
  • Completes special projects as assigned, such as technical accounting research and process improvements
  • Assists the internal and external auditors with interim reviews and year-end audits
  • Maintains and keeps current on knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, SEC requirements, and other relevant accounting regulations
  • Avoids penalties and interest by maintaining adherence to internal controls and policy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA designation not required, but preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
