Industrial Gas Branch Manager The primary responsibility of the Industrial Gas Branch Manager is to build, lead and manage the customer care, inventory, and sales performance for the branch they are directly responsible for. Branch strategy and innovations will determine the success of both the team and the branch, so it is important that the manager understand that (s)he is responsible for crafting a strategic direction for the development of their branch with the executive leadership in the organization, the development of new education platforms for their employees, and the communication of all new and changing measures to the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities:

Management of Branch Sales

Set the sales direction for the branch by defining sales goals per customer industry and product line while managing the sales process. Conduct Root Cause Analysis for both sales made, and sales lost and work with branch team to improve overall customer sales experience. Coach and train customer service representatives to sales process and potential management.

Personnel

Drive staff responsible for performance in meeting both team and company goals. Train and hold team accountable for all aspects of their role and responsibilities. They should be able to work to a high level of performance while staying in compliance with company processes. All staff are expected to be able to answer three basic questions about their role in addition to demonstrating a high level of engagement and competency on the job:

a. What do I do? – Job Responsibilities b. How do I do it? – Processes c. Why do I do it? – Value Proposition

Communicate future of the company, branch, and employee development opportunities in the organization to drive long-term employee engagement and commitment to the company mission and values. Work with all branches and plants to ensure that the company is being 100% compliant with regards to safety, training, professionalism, cleanliness, and environmental issues.

Hiring

Drive the hiring process by reviewing resumes, conducting phone interviews, requesting assessments, setting up in-person interviews, etc. Engage in learning to read the assessments – when meeting to review, have prepared questions, a vision of who you would like to hire, and lead the discussion. Ensure that all communication with Payroll regarding applicants is up-to-date and timely.

? Communication

Actively reach out to other branches, the plant, administration, and the ownership to ensure a high level of information and knowledge flow throughout the organization. Stay abreast of new sales industries and sales opportunities being developed by other branches to ensure that your branch is also able to grow accordingly. Ask questions when communication is unclear or confusing in nature.

? Administrative

Metrically track branch performance, regularly reviewing for both upward and downward trends in monthly scorecard. Ensure that branch direction is consistent with company strategy and direction. Review PPS and Delivery tickets to ensure that all necessary components are tracked appropriately for auditing purposes. Review video camera footage for drivers to ensure that safety requirements and company policies are being followed.

Experience:

3-10 years of experience in the manufacturing and distribution of gases (industrial gas preferred). B.S. degree required – background in business preferred. 3-5 years of experience in technical sales required. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. This position offers a competitive base salary.
