Our client is a privately held and founded in the 1980s, they are a team of professional engineers, programmers, automation panel assemblers and system commissioning experts who engineer, integrate and manufacture custom-designed industrial, commercial, and machine control systems for clients worldwide.
Job Description
The Sales Engineer primarily supports the outside sales team with inside sales, estimating, quoting, and inbound sales processing. Effective communication and a customer service mindset are required. This individual will coordinate and complete a large volume of quotes annually in a detailed, organized, accurate, and timely manner. This individual strives to help others as part of a team and is always eager to take on additional challenges and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Work closely with customers to scope projects promoting our client’s capabilities and strengths
Designing, manufacturing, programming, and commissioning custom control solutions
Read and interpret bid documents, plans, specifications, customer design standards, drawings, and schematics to determine scope of service and supply
Quantify hardware and labor required to estimate total project costs
Produce professionally written project proposals and quotations and manage customer sales calls
Identify and implement improvements to automate company processes and systems
Document and transfer project information to Engineering for effective execution
Travel domestically less than 5% annually
Qualifications
MS Office applications, ability to work with CRM and ERP systems
Estimating costs and BOM’s to manufacture Industrial Control Panels
Writing and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation hardware and other control components
Selecting and sizing VFD’s, PLC’s, HMI’s, and related control hardware
Ability to read and interpret the scope of supply from bid specifications and customer documentation
Reading Electrical Schematics, One-Line Diagrams, and Project Specifications
Helping customers by eliciting requirements and formalizing a project scope
Controls application experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes and industries
Experience with machine and electrical testing and troubleshooting
Programming of PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, and Relay Logic to implement process control
Minimum Job Requirements:
BSEE or BSME
2+ years of experience working for an automation integrator/panel shop for industrial controls
Working knowledge of the different types of electrical hardware in industrial controls (i.e. Circuit breakers/overloads/electrical enclosures/contractors, etc.)
AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical experience
Good communication skills
Positive can-do attitude
Strong work ethic
Ability to understand the Applications our customers are using controls in (i.e. Water/wastewater, Food processing equipment, Recycling equipment, industrial automation processes, Plant controls, etc.)
Base Salary:
$75,000.00 – $85,000.00 – DOE
Bonus:
5% – 6% Annually
