Job Summary
The person in this position will serve as a Nurse for the UK College of Dentistry, primarily at COD OMFS & Turfland OMFS.
This position will be responsible for providing care to patients during consultation, pre op, surgery and post op. Will provide wound care to post op patients. Coordinate patient care among multi clinics. The Nurse Clinician will monitor and record baseline, intra-op and post-op vital signs, as well as report any abnormal readings or other pertinent health history to provider. Other duties include: administer medications under the verbal order of provider, act as point of contact for patients and/or other healthcare entities, and complete post-op evaluation of patient prior to transporting patient following sedation procedures. Prepare patient for procedure sedation including nasal cannula, blood pressure, ECG leads, pulse oximeter, placement of intravenous catheter and local cases include pre-op blood pressure. They will also complete timeout process, ensuring correct patient, procedure, consent and supplies are obtained prior to giving medications, as well as review post-op instructions with patient and escort. This position will serve as a back up nurse when necessary.
