Dia Cast Senior Operator - Monticello
Salary: 
base pay around $25-$33 (+shift differential)
Shift: 2nd shift (4:00pm-2:30am)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Works closely with shift Supervisor to ensure production training needs are met.
  • Identify and overcome obstacle to Safety, Quality, and productivity.
  • Works with shift Supervisors to identify operator training needs and expectations to ensure employees in Cell area have a clear understanding of work instructions and standard work.
  • Create and edit standard work when necessary, and work with Engineering to document changes.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Trains new employees on machines, safety rules and production processes and procedures.
  • Monitors the productivity of assigned work area: drive actions to meet and exceed productivity. Updates white board as needed.   
  • Communicate information clearly and effectively to co-workers.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
  • Interact with other departments and outside firms.
  • Backfill line during absenteeism as required.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience running machines
  • Strong leadership and team skills
  • Technical background in machine maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and effectively communicate them to the maintenance team
  • Familiarity and comfortable working within a manufacturing and die cast production environment
  • High School Diploma/ GED required.
  • Basic level math skills (including addition, subtraction, multiplications, and division using whole number, fraction and decimals).
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T concepts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability read and interpret blue prints, engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience working in a die cast setting is highly preferred.
  • Ability to wear required PPE (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by Polaris / WSI)
