HOW A Senior VMWare Engineer WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Configure, manage and maintain the physical and virtual infrastructures Perform required maintenance of a large VMware virtual infrastructure in accordance with established schedules and best practices Provide senior level support for maintenance, operation, and configuration of VMware's Site Recovery Manager and the vREalize Suite Design, document, test and implement virtual services and devices Act as a technical lead for major initiatives, changes and deployments, and handle the diagnosis of complex issues within the virtual environment Demonstrate advanced analytical skills by identifying the root cause of complex issues to maintain maximum service availability Assess and evaluate current virtual computing infrastructure, and provide recommendations for enhancements Mentor and train lower level engineers Develop and maintain standard operating procedures Create and defend system change requests Develop, maintain and implement a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions Detects, identify and perform complex problem isolation and resolution throughout the virtual architecture Develop and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages Support yearly disaster recovery exercises WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. An additional 4 years of experience can substitute for degree Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting server virtualization technology, specializing in VMware systems. Must have experience leading technical team supporting system operations. Must possess a Data Center Virtualization certification or equivalent certification or 10 years of relevant experience. Required Certifications: COMPTIA Security and VMware VCP Data Center Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI Location: Will work on Customer Site in Newington, VA, 5 days a week Monday through Friday. No weekend or 2nd or 3rd shifts. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
