HOW AN IT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL - SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Responsible for the most complex testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities including: power, software, communications devices, lines, modems and terminals. Monitors and controls the performance and status of the network resources. May function in a lead capacity within the department. Provides guidance and direction for less experienced personnel. Understands basic Cisco router/switch commands and can program initial network gear setups. Must be able to work independently and with other IT teams (networks, systems, cyber, etc.) without supervision. Must be able to travel on short notice when required. Must understand Desktop system troubleshooting and imaging techniques. Conducts hardware infrastructure site surveys, planning, and design Makes recommendations on hardware, cabling, and equipment requirements Provides installation management to include creating list of materials, bills of materials, estimating installation project timelines, determining installation team requirements, successfully executing installation projects, and documenting project status Plans, builds, and installs cable patch panels and cable infrastructures Installs and terminates all types of standard IT cable and fiber Provides equipment rack installation and equipment installations within a variety of locations that includes, but is not limited to, data centers, equipment rooms, communications closets, operations centers, and user workspaces Performs installs and terminations for all types of standard IT cable and fiber Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network infrastructure and/or components Recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience Required Skillset: Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI Required Certification(s): DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security or equivalent Required Computing Environment (CE) certification: CCNA or equivalent Location : On Customer Site Additional : Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity Travel may be required to support the mission GDIT IS YOUR PLACE: 401K with company match Comprehensive health and wellness packages Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications Cutting-edge technology you can learn from Rest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays GDITINSCOM I2TS4 GDITArmy Work Requirements .cls-1{fill:none;stroke:5b6670;stroke-miterlimit:10;stroke-width:2px} Years of Experience 7 years of related experience may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree .cls-2{fill:none;stroke:5b6670;stroke-miterlimit:10;stroke-width:2px} Certification Travel Required Less than 10% .cls-3{fill:none;stroke:5d666f;stroke-miterlimit:10} Citizenship U.S. Citizenship Required Salary and Benefit Information The likely salary range for this position is $107,962 - $146,066. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
